Well said Shashwat!!!……You’ve made it so damn clear that even a novice can understand what gem of a person Anna Hazare is and how regardless of no ”personal” benefit, he’s still fighting for a common cause. But the shameful part is why some specimes who don’t even have an ounce of the courage Anna has, are hellbent on taking potshots on someone who’s put his life on stake just so that we stop living like Gutless Worms!!!

It would be nice to see references for the facts presented here. The growth in assets of elected officials after election is the key fact presented here. It would be great if there was a website dedicated to showing increase in assets of all elected officials.
What we really need is more such articles in major media publications especially during elections so that people can choose between the plague and cholera more effectively.
The only thing that is the driver of democracy is free flow of information.

One of your very best pieces Shashwat!
I stand in applause!This one came out of the keyboard of your heart. Only you could tell his story as bravely and touchingly as you just did. I am sorry Valroy, but I too belong to those set of ignoramus breed who would say ‘Who was Uncle Pai?’, but for Shashwat’s stubborn and affectionate passion for ACK. Why do ‘Foxes’ always win over such endearing ‘shops around the corner’….it’s not a mockery, but a tragedy. And somewhere we readers allow the slaughter.

I was even more saddened when after i posted RIP Uncle Pai, i had a few people ask me – who was Uncle Pai? Compelling arguments put forth very creatively! I was a bit undecided about Hussain’s ‘acts’, but after reading your piece, I realise that artistic license cannot be give to kill revered emotions…Nevertheless, Hussain is a great artist and indeed helped put India on the world art map. Hope he gets some sanity and mitigates the damage by issuing an unconditional apology and withdrawing all offensive paintings.
